Chongyang

The Chongyang Festival, also known as the Double Ninth Festival, is held on the ninth day of the ninth lunar month.

In 2022, the Chongyang Festival will take place on Tuesday 4th October.

The Chongyang Festival is also known as the Senior Citizens’ Festival. This year we are inviting children to celebrate Seniors Day by entering "The my grandparents and me story competition". The story can be told in the form of the children's choice such as pictures, drawings, video, writing, etc. The entry must be the children's original work.

The deadline for entry is the 18th of September 2022. Click here to download the information sheet for entering the competition.

  • Sharing your memories and stories of times spent with your grandparents or other elderly members of the community around you
  • Make a Grandparents' Day/Senior citizen's day card
  • Make a phone call to elders in your family and community
  • Share your thoughts and actions of what you can do to dedicate your love and care to elders
