Ms. Xiaoshan Wang – a mezzo Soprano, was a opera singer of the Shanghai Opera House before her further study and residence in the UK. She graduated from the Beijing Central Drama Institution of China (The best drama institution in China) and Shanghai Conservatory of Music & Drama supervised by Prof. Zhenming Zhuang. She had further development of her music accomplishment in the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama. She majored in opera music education, supervised by Kathleen McKellar Ferguson. Later she was awarded the Arts Council England Spotlight Award in 2003. In the same year, she performed with the famous Chinese Tenor - Yuqiang Dao in concert “Beyond Asia, Part of the World”. She was the first Chinese Mezzo Soprano who performed in the Seashore Musical Hall in Singapore. During the past 10 years, she was very active in performing opera and concerts around the world including China, Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, Germany, France, Switzerland, Luxembourg and the UK. She was cast in many famous Opera roles: Carmen by Bizet, Evgeny Onegin by Pushkini, Die Fledermaus by Johann Strauss, The King of Dynasty Chu and The Savage Land by Jin Xiang. Xiaoshan earned a lot of recognition for her performance. Her role Jiao Mu cast in the drama The Savage Land was praised by the the German musical world, who said: “Xiaoshan Wang’s performance in the role Jiao Mu is full of artistic talent and her repertoire voices make the role very true and full of vitality.” Ms. Xiaoshan Wang is now very involved in musical education and is a passionate supporter and music teacher of SEN and children with a disability. She is an accomplished professional who enjoys sharing her knowledge and talent, and giving something back to community and inspire young children.
