Maggie is a native Mandarin speaker from Liaoning province, in the northeast of China. She graduated from the University of Surrey with an MA degree in Linguistics (TESOL) at the end of 2007, and she was awarded another MA degree in Christian Studies at GETS Theological Seminary in 2017 (a college based in the USA). She used to teach Mandarin to children aged between 1 and 6 years at a private school in 2018-2019, and this experience inspired her passion to be a good Mandarin teacher as a lifetime career.
She has many hobbies and in her spare time she enjoys singing, dancing and drawing and she always brings these interests into her classroom to help children build their confidence and curiosity. She thinks that a teacher’s job is not only to impart knowledge but also to stimulate students' enthusiasm for learning and to help them find self-confidence and a sense of accomplishment. She wants to make a meaningful contribution to children, to motivate and inspire them to love learning Mandarin.
