Xuanzhiyan started learning Chinese calligraphy and gymnastics at just 3 years old. One year later, she began classical piano. At the age of 5, she began another artistic journey in dancing and Chinese traditional painting. Throughout her childhood and school years, these art forms were playing a critical part in her development of music and culture. Learning different art forms from an early age paves a solid pathway to proficient skills and excellent appreciation for the arts. After honing her skills for around 15 years, she started teaching students from a young age to adults. With both a bachelor and master degree accomplished in both China and UK, she understands the difference between eastern and western learning. An awareness of cultural differences is essential in both learning and teaching processes. Bearing this in mind, she always makes sure students from different cultural backgrounds won't have a cultural shock but only enjoy the pure pleasure of learning. As she fully experienced the pain and joy of learning a variety of art subjects, she delivers art classes with great passion and empathy. She knows what it takes to master art skills and still keep an eternal zest for learning, since stimulating and protecting the interest to learn is pivotal to children. She believes the best way to approach and understand arts is to feel, practise and create, as creativity is the top achievement in any art forms.
