Rong Guo is a native Mandarin speaker from Beijing. After she obtained a Bachelor of Medicine degree in China, she came to Britain to further her education. She completed an M. Phil and a PhD and did several years of research, then she started to teach Chinese in universities and the London Mandarin School from year 2003.
To enhance her teaching she completed a further PGCE in 2007 (University of Westminster), and took three month long intensive training courses of Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language in Beijing Language University (2005), East China Normal University (Shanghai, 2006), and Shanxi Normal University (2016).
In Shanxi Normal University she took the exam of Chinese Language Teaching Practice which was organized by the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council and achieved the advanced level. She also attended the local short training courses regularly, which were organized by the UK Association for the Promotion of Chinese Education (UKAPCE), Cambridge University and Macmillan Publishers (the publisher of Discover China).
She is an active member of the British Chinese Language Teaching Society and participates in the society’ international conferences yearly. At present she is a Chinese language teacher in Imperial College, Kings College London, University of Westminster, London Mandarin School and WenLin Chinese School.
